United Technologies is making big changes to the way it works. The multinational firm responsible for producing Otis Elevators, Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines, and advanced aerospace systems is embarking on a wide-reaching digital transformation, requiring its leaders to approach innovation with a new lens. As a result, the 200,000-employee organization has launched empowerU, a company-wide initiative to boost innovation and transparency through more integrated and people-centered HR processes.

Employee engagement and People Success

Glint is proud to be collaborating with UTC to drive its People Success strategy in this effort.

“We’re changing the way we work at UTC and Glint’s Pulse platform is an integral part of the change,” said Patti Muldoon, Head of Employee Engagement at UTC.

“Glint will enable timely and transparent conversations between managers and employees. Further, managers will receive the coaching resources they need to keep their teams engaged and performing at the highest levels. Equipping our managers with these insights is key to fostering transparency and innovation. Our collaboration with Glint speaks to our commitment to enable employees to think big, deliver results, and, as we say, move the world forward.”

Pulse, powered by Glint, will amplify the voice of the employee at UTC, helping uncover and address engagement challenges. The platform will automate pulse surveys to the organization’s employees and provide leaders and managers with real-time insights about the employee experience. Predictive alerts will help surface issues that could negatively impact engagement and business outcomes. Glint will also provide sophisticated comment analytics and guided action planning, directing managers to improve recommended focus areas.

“UTC is one of the world’s most innovative organizations. With Glint, the company will be able to continuously learn from the feedback of hundreds of thousands of global employees and instantly provide managers with critical information to fuel their people success,” said Jim Barnett, Co-founder of Glint. “We’re excited to see UTC’s managers and leaders harness the insights Glint provides to facilitate more frequent conversations that lead to ongoing improvement and even higher levels of innovation and excellence.”

UTC joins a growing roster of global clients focused on identifying the links between people success metrics and business outcomes, including employer brand, employee retention, customer satisfaction, safety, and profitability. Leading organizations including Intuit, Sky, and IKEA rely on Glint for its people-centric architecture, proactive intelligence, continuous improvement, and relationship to business outcomes. We look forward to working with UTC to help drive its people strategy in this new era of transformation.
