1. Introduction
Protecting your personal information is core to our mission at Glint Inc. (collectively “Glint”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal information that we receive when you visit our website available at www.glintinc.com (the “Site”) or our mobile applications (the “App”) (collectively, the “Website Services”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of the Glint Platform (as defined below in Section 2.3). Data collected through the Glint Platform is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection summaries provided there. The “Glint Client” is the Glint corporate customer or client that has contracted with Glint to administer surveys on Glint Client’s behalf. For instance, the Glint Client may be your employer. More information can be found in Section 2.3 below. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are linked to or accessible through our Website Services. We may modify and revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business or information practices.
Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, all capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Service Terms, which are located at https://www.glintinc.com/terms/.
2. Data We Collect
We collect personal information from you in order to provide and improve our Website Services, to administer your use of our Website Services, and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Website Services. We will retain personal information for as long as is needed to provide our Website Services to you or to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
2.1- Data You Provide
If you visit our Site, you may choose to provide us with personal information, including your first and last name, email address, phone number, and/or business information (such as company name and number of employees). You may also choose to provide us personal testimonials or other endorsements, which we may display on our Site.
2.2- Information Collected Using Cookies and Other Web Technologies
We, our marketing partners, affiliates, and service providers use automated data collection tools such as Cookies, pixels, web beacons, social media plug-ins (such as the “Share with LinkedIn” button) and other similar technologies. We use these technologies to collect personal information in order to, among other things, analyze trends, administer the Website Services, understand how users use the Site, and to gather demographic information about users of the Site.
Using these technologies, we may automatically record certain information about how users use our Website Services (we refer to this information as “Log Data”). Log Data may include information such as a user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page that a user was visiting before accessing our Website Services, actions taken on our Site, search terms terms entered, the links on our Website Services that a user clicks, the pages visited, time spent on our Site, and other similar information.
For more information about how Glint uses Cookies and other Web Technologies, please review our Cookie Policy.
2.3- Data We Collect When You Use the Glint Platform
This Privacy Policy does not apply to data Glint collects on behalf of Glint Clients when you access the Glint platform to utilize Glint’s employee engagement and people success services (“Glint Platform”). For more information about how Glint processes data on behalf of its clients, please review the applicable data protection summaries provided in connection with the Glint Platform. If you have questions, please reach out directly to your organization.
2.4- Mobile Application
In addition to the other types of data listed in this Section, when you download and use our App, we may automatically collect information such as how often you use the App, your activity within the App, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the App was downloaded from.
3. How We Use Your Data
3.1- Website Services
We primarily use your personal information to provide access to the Site, to enable use of our App, and to provide and improve our Website Services. As described in Section 2.3, above, this Privacy Policy does not apply to data collected through the Glint Platform.
3.2- Marketing and Sales Communications
Glint and its affiliates use the personal information we or our service providers collect about you from the Site to provide you with marketing and sales communications both on and off of the Glint Website Services. We may also receive reports regarding the effectiveness of our campaigns on an individual and aggregated basis. If you wish to opt-out of targeted marketing, please use the options available in the Cookie banner or button at the bottom of the page or the controls available through your browser.
3.3- Analytics
We use third-party analytics services to collect and analyze non-directly identifying personal information regarding you or your device. These analytics services use technologies such as Cookies, tracking pixels or other mechanisms to collect, use, share and store our users’ data. For more information regarding the service providers and cookies that Glint uses to collect analytics data and methods to opt-out, please review our Cookie Policy.
3.4- Research / Development
We use personal information to improve and enhance our Website Services by expanding their features and functionality and improving marketing, analytics or Site functionality. To do this, we may combine information such as Log Data with other information we collect about you or that you provide to us.
3.5- Security
We may use your personal information as necessary to keep our Website Services safe and secure, including to fight spam, malware and identity theft.
4. How We Share Information
4.1- Service Providers
We may engage third-party service providers to administer and provide our Website Services. Our service providers may provide services such as hosting Glint’s Site, providing technical support, collecting analytics data to analyze trends, or assisting in our marketing. These service providers have access to your personal information only for the purpose of performing services on our behalf and are contractually restricted in how they may use your personal information.
4.2- Non-Identifiable Information Shared with Third Parties
We may share aggregated information and non-directly identifying information with third parties to enhance the effectiveness of our Website Services, for industry research and analysis, demographic profiling, benchmarking, and other similar purposes.
4.3- Change in Control or Sale
We may share your personal information as part of a sale, merger or change in control, or in preparation for any of these events. Any other entity which buys us or part of our business will have the right to continue to use your data, but only in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy unless you agree otherwise.
4.6- Legal Disclosures
It is possible that we will need to disclose information about you when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (1) investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (2) enforce our agreements with you; (3) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; (4) protect the security or integrity of our Website Services (such as by sharing with companies facing similar threats); or (5) exercise or protect the rights and safety of Glint, our personnel or others. We will attempt to notify you about legal demands for your personal information when appropriate in our judgment, unless prohibited by law or court order or when the request is an emergency. We may dispute such demands when we believe, in our discretion, that the requests are overbroad, vague, or lack proper authority, but we do not promise to challenge every demand.
5. Your Choices
5.1- Right to Access, Control and Delete Your Personal Information
Upon request, Glint will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third-party, any of your personal information. If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire to use our Website Services, you may correct, update, amend, delete/remove, and/or ask to have it removed from a testimonial on our Site.
You can exercise these rights or other rights provided to you by law by contacting us using the contact information at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. To exercise your rights to access, control and delete your personal information collected through the Glint Platform, please contact the applicable Glint Client, who may be your employer.
6. Other Important Stuff
6.1- Do Not Track
Do Not Track (DNT) is a proposed standard for allowing internet users to control the tracking of their online activities across websites. To date, no single DNT standard has been adopted. Because there is no single standard, Glint currently doesn’t respond to DNT signals. For more information regarding Do Not Track mechanisms, see http://allaboutdnt.com/.
6.2- Security
We implement reasonable security safeguards designed to protect your data, such as HTTPS. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us.
6.3- Cross Border Data Transfers
We process data both inside and outside of the United States and rely on legally-provided mechanisms to transfer data across borders. Countries where we process data may have laws which are different from, and potentially not as protective as, the laws of your own country.
6.4- Our Policy Toward Children
Our Website Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.
